The Dean Forest Railway is based at Norchard, on the B4234 Forest Road between Lydney and Parkend. If arriving by road, we recommend starting your journey here, for as well as offering a more frequent range of train departures than Lydney Junction or Parkend, there is a large free car park. There are no car parks at our other DFR stations.
Norchard is also home to our railway museum, souvenir shop, Coaches Café cafeteria, toilets, second hand book sales etc.
Norchard is the site of a former colliery and power station.

We have two platforms: 'Norchard High Level' where trains between Lydney and Parkend call (pictured above) on the branch line to Parkend, plus 'Norchard Low Level' which is normally used at the start and end of the day plus on special events such as Gala days and Days out with Thomas. The two lines join at Middle Forge Junction, south of Norchard.
