HAWKSWORTH INSPECTION SALOON No. 80943
This vehicle is one of a small batch of six vehicles built at Swindon in 1948 to Lot 1701, design Q13. Used as an inspection coach by the District Engineer and his staff, the interior is divided into a saloon area at each end complete with tables, settees and chairs. In the centre of each coach is a small guard’s compartment on either side of which is a kitchen area and a toilet. The interiors were built to a high standard and have been restored to as near as original condition as possible.

This vehicle, seating up to 22 people, is ideal to charter for special occasions, eg. birthdays or meetings. Catering can be provided, from tea, coffee and biscuits to a full buffet. GWR Shunters Truck No. DW41152
Owned by the Dean Forest Locomotive Group (DFLG) since 1976 this vehicle was refurbished in 2009. These trucks were coupled next to the locomotive and saw use in marshalling yards as riding wagons for the shunter and also carried shunting poles and spare wagon couplings. Built in 1940 to Diagram M5 (Lot 1420) weighing 6ton 12cwt (6706Kg) and 17ft (518.2cm) long , this type has a through vacuum pipe and hand brake.
